Happy October! I wanted to pop in for a bit and share my Halloween entryway decor. I must admit that these decorations went up in September even though I am usually a stickler for waiting until October to decorate. But all of the big-box stores put out their Christmas items a few weeks ago and took away a lot of the Halloween items, so I felt the need to jump on the Halloween boat early to fill the orange and black void.
I went super simple this year and only decorated my entryway. I may put out a few more pumpkins, but I’m trying to keep the decorations to a minimum because (1) there are so many toys around that I get claustrophobic having too many decorations out, and (2) the kids–they can’t resist the breakable items.
So here it is. A very simple, very easy ten-minute halloween setup:
For my entryway table, I covered the items that usually stay on the table with one of those stretchable spiderwebs.
The mercury-glass pumpkins and metal spider are from PotteryBarn. And the two witches on poles are mine from the 90s.
I added a few pumpkins as vase filler and super-glued orange and black pom-poms to the ends of my tree branches.
The pom-pom tree branches were inspired by these branches I saw at HomeGoods:
I love the look of the black branches, but I didn’t want to spray paint my branches because I hang ornaments off of them for other holidays. The branches are also extra special to me because they are aspen wood that my aunt brought back from Colorado.
I’ve been collecting a few small pumpkins here and there that I have scattered around the house (and on my fireplace mantel), but for the most part the entryway is the only spot in the house that I will spend time decorating.
Now if the weather would cool off a little bit, we will really get in the Halloween spirit. Until then, it’s shorts and splash pads for us!
